Full Stack Engineer II

Overview

Talon Defense is seeking a Full Stack Engineer II to design, build, and deploy modern web-based applications supporting cyber operations. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and deploying containerized applications, working within cloud-based infrastructure, and building secure, scalable software systems. This role will contribute across the entire software lifecycle—from architecture and development to deployment and maintenance in secure operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications supporting cyber research and operational missions
  • Build and deploy Docker-based applications in secure development environments
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Python and other modern programming languages
  • Implement responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript and modern web frameworks
  • Deploy and manage applications within AWS and Azure cloud environments
  • Integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Collaborate with cyber operators, researchers, and engineers to deliver mission-relevant capabilities
  • Ensure software operates effectively within secure development and operational environments used by USCYBERCOM

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, or military technical training
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, modifying, documenting, and integrating software programming applications using Agile methods
  • 3+ years of experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, workflows, site maintenance, APIs, or web development stacks, including Python and JavaScript
  • Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
  • Experience with Docker containerization and container-based deployments
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
  • Ability to work within classified or secure development environments
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain the operation of application code

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community cyber missions
  • Knowledge of USCYBERCOM development environments and operational workflows
  • Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and automated security testing
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Security Clearance

Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI level and at least a CI Polygraph is required.
