Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement entity resolution pipelines for record linkage, duplicate detection, and data consolidation
  • Develop deterministic and probabilistic matching methods, including candidate generation, scoring, and clustering
  • Improve matching quality across incomplete, inconsistent, and conflicting datasets
  • Analyze matching thresholds and document tradeoffs between precision, recall, and computational performance
  • Implement traceability and explainability features that support review of matching results
  • Collaborate with data platform engineers and software developers to integrate matching capabilities into enterprise systems
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and performance improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, certifications, or military technical training

  • Experience with probabilistic matching, blocking, candidate generation, scoring, and clustering beyond basic fuzzy string matching
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience developing scalable data processing applications
  • Ability to explain how blocking and threshold choices affect match recall, precision, and ambiguous cases
  • Experience preserving data provenance and communicating the evidence supporting a match
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary technical team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Fellegi–Sunter methods, m- and u-probabilities, Splink, Dedupe, Zingg, or comparable custom implementations
  • Experience with graph databases, knowledge graphs, or entity-centric data models
